Today is Day 6 of the 30 days of Sparkle. You can download a free copy of the 30 day booklet by clicking the link to the right…. It’s never too late to pick up and start that upward focus for the days of December.
I realize that Sparkling all month might sound corny. In all seriousness though, as we are called to be the light and life of Christ in this world, it’s not actually corny at all. It’s a practical thought that can give us pause. Am I shining Christ in the darkness or am I spewing my emotions, feelings and “me” everywhere I go?
Naturally sparkling on a good day is quite easy. But it’s in the busy days…HELLO December! Anyone already dashing about besides me? Of course you are! A woman’s work is never done at this time of year. There are trees to decorate, gifts to buy, bargains to hunt down, parties to plan. You get it!
What if, in the middle of the bustle we remembered WHO Christ came to be? What if, we no longer forgot when we were busy but instead remembered?
For surely walking with Christ is not about having enough time for your Bible Study workbook! It’s way more practical and personal than that. It’s learning the presence and leaning into it throughout the day. It’s remembering Him even in the errands and the lists. Stopping frequently to think of who He is. No one knows you are doing this, but your heart does.
Your heart and soul find rest in the remembering.
In today’s 30 days of Sparkle, the theme of the day is: THE GOD OF ALL COMFORT
“Praise be tot he God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we may comfort others.” 2 Corinthians 1:4
Comfort comes from a Greek word that means, to come beside, to draw near.
He is always drawing us near, inviting us to journey with him….through the lists, the decorating, the malls, the bargain hunts. Can you stop today several times and thank Him that He is with you and that He IS the God of all comfort? And, while you are at it, can you take the time to comfort or encourage someone else. It takes a minute, it lasts forever.
